Steve Jobs Says iWeb To Be Discontinued

Apple pulled out all the stops with their iCloud announcement at WWDC, but when you pull so much, something has to get pushed to the side. In an insightfully thoughtful email from Jobs to a customer, he confirmed that iWeb will be discontinued as a result of their move towards the cloud.

Q: Dear Mr. Jobs,

Will I need to find an alternative website builder and someone to host my sites?

I have invested a lot of time and effort and the thought of re-training sucks more than mobileme ever did.

A:Yep.

All existing MobileMe users have received free subscriptions up until the cancellation of the MobileMe service in June 2012, but it seems that Apple is prepared to orphan these users that wish to find a web hosting solution for their iWeb sites rather than find them a new home.
