Skype has just launched a brand new free iOS app called Skype WiFi (Free, App Store Link). The app helps you locate over 1 WiFi hotspots, and allows you to get online using Skype credit at a cost of as little as $0.06 USD per minute, regardless of how much bandwidth you use.
Further, you don’t have to buy time in hourly increments – you only have to pay for the time that you use. Skype WiFi is targeted mainly at travelers, and serves as one of the least expensive data options available while traveling.
Skype is celebrating the launch of the new app by giving you a chance to try it for free. To try the service, just load the app and connect to a hotspot any time from Saturday 20th August 00:00 till Sunday 21st August 23:59 BST. The free app is available immediately from the iTunes App Store (Free, App Store Link).
