The FBI’s First Official iPhone App Could Help Save Missing Children

Possibly one of the most significant hindrances to police when investigating child abduction and kidnapping cases is a lack of an up-to-date and accurate photo of the child. Fortunately, the FBI has just released their first official app (Free, App Store Link), which stores this information and keeps it at hand.

The free app is called FBI Child ID, and essentially functions as a way to store the latest information and images about your child, so that you can quickly provide all of the information to the police in the event that your child goes missing.

Not only does the app keep all of this important information at hand – it also provides the ability to quickly email the information to the authorities, and also provides information on good practices for keeping your children safe, as well as advice on the first steps you should take if your child gets abducted.

While this app is unlikely to prevent a child from getting abducted, it may very well help save their life if they do. You can download the app immediately from iTunes (Free, App Store Link).
