The iPad Helps Make Disney’s New Fantasyland A Reality

If the iPad wasn’t magical and revolutionary before, it certainly is now! Disney is using the iPad to help their “Imagineers” design and implement an upcoming Disney attraction called Fantasyland, which will be located at their Magic Kingdom Theme Park in Florida.

Disney’s “Imagineers” use the iPad for a variety of purposes (collaboration, 3D modeling, scheduling projects and more), finding it to be an ideal method for testing out ideas and solving problems while in the field.

One they spot a conflict, they can simply snap a picture with the iPad and then set up a live meeting with other people on the project using WebEx on the iPad.

The final proof that the iPad truly is a “magical” device, despite being used to construct part of the Magic Kingdom, is reflected in this quote from engineer Mark Kohl:

It really allows us to do what we do best as imagineers…Focus on our show and create a world class attractions for our guests.
