Red Giant’s Magic Bullet Suite – A Great Set of Plugins for Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro is one of the biggest editing platforms in the world. As a result of its popularity there are a lot of third party plugins to enhance the editing experience. It takes a lot for plug ins to stand out amongst the competition but Red Giant’s Magic Bullet suite not only stands out from them, but it leaves them behind in it’s dust. What makes the suite so fantastic to use? Read on and find out more.

What is the Magic Bullet Suite?

Magic Bullet Suite even supports the newly released Final Cut Pro X

“Magic Bullet Suite 11 is the newest, hottest release of our definitive toolkit that brings professional tools to filmmakers everywhere. Designed by seasoned colorist and film director Stu Maschwitz, this Suite produces professional Hollywood-style results on an indie budget. Its nine essential tools let you capture the emotion of your subject, making your footage more personal and compelling. “

Basically, the suite consists of nine beautifully designed plugins to make your footage look as good as it possibly can. Watch the video below to see a brief outline as to what each plugin does:

As you can see there’s plenty of different options to tweak and color your video as necessary. Each plug in works incredibly, there’s no ‘faffing around’ trying to get the results you want, every effect is simple to use usually involving just a few sliders to get fantastic results. The suite isn’t limited to just the Final Cut platform, it also branches out into Adobe’s creative suite and a whole host of others.

For me, Colorista II is now the plug in I use the most. It blows Final Cut’s factory plug in completely out of the water. It’s simple to use, fast to render and a lot more accurate than most color corrector plug ins. It’s a complete game changer and a lot of other companies are going to have to step up to Red Giant’s level if they want to compete.

Overall:

I can honestly say that Red Giant’s Magic Bullet Suite is one of the most incredible collection of plug ins I’ve had the privilege to use since I started editing. Personally, it streamlines the editing process for me so I don’t have to fiddle around with vague controls to get mediocre results. If you have the money and you’re pretty serious about film editing, buy this plug in suite now!

I am going to give the plug in suite an astounding 4.5\5!
