comScore: iOS Exceeds Android In Total User Base

A new study released today by comScore shows that the iPad continues to dominate the tablet industry, and that iOS devices still take the lead in total installed market base (43.1%), with Android in second place at 34.1%.

The study also reveals that the iPad now accounts for more internet traffic than the iPhone, with 48.6% of traffic compared to 42.6% for the iPhone. Further, the iPad accounted for 97.2% of U.S. Internet traffic from tablet devices for the June-August period, as measured by page views.

Also notable from the report is that internet traffic from iOS devices significantly exceeds that from Android devices, with iOS accounting for 58.5% of the overall market, while Android only accounts for about 32%.
