Bloomberg’s Gurman: No Apple Vision Pro 2 Before End of 2026

Apple is not planning to release a second-generation Vision Pro headset until the end of 2026, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

Gurman’s comments come in the latest edition of his “Power On” newsletter. He said Apple’s latest Vision Pro roadmap “doesn’t currently call for a second-generation model until the end of 2026.” Gurman said in February that the device was “at least 18 months away.”

Gurman’s sources tell him that Apple is still trying to figure out a way to bring a cheaper version to market before then:

The good news for Meta is it could have plenty of time to pursue that goal. Apple’s latest Vision Pro road map doesn’t currently call for a second-generation model until the end of 2026, though the company is trying to figure out a way to bring a cheaper version to market before then. Apple is still flummoxed by how exactly to bring down the cost, I’m told.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said earlier this year that he believes new Vision Pro models with significant changes to the specification may not enter mass production until 2027.

At the time, Kuo said he did expect a modified Vision Pro to enter mass production until late 2025 to early 2026, with Apple targeting the lowering of costs and improved production.
