Apple Confirms iPhone 4S/iOS 5 Battery Life Issues, Fix Coming ‘In A Few Weeks’

Ever since iOS 5 was released, and particularly since the launch of the iPhone 4S, users have been complaining about battery life issues. Apple has now confirmed that they have found some issues, reports The Loop, and will be issuing an update ‘in a few weeks’ to address the issue.

A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.

Various solutions have surfaced attempting to help people resolve the issues, such as turning off Location Services, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, or disabling automatic time zone settings, but these fixes have only seen limited success, with many users continuing to report issues after exhausting all of their options.

Apple has already begun issuing an iOS 5.0.1 beta to developers that is said to address the issue.
