BBC Releases Dr. Who Encyclopedia for iPad

In celebration of the upcoming 49th anniversary of “Doctor Who,” the BBC has released a new Doctor Who Encyclopedia for the iPad. The app is intended as an alternative to the hardback version of the same title, and places nearly 50 years of Dr. Who knowledge at your fingertips.

The app is expandable, and will initially cover the current incarnation of The Doctor, with information from previous Dr. Who eras available as in-app purchases. The Dr. Who Encyclopedia includes over 3,000 entries about the current generation of the show, and even includes interactive and 3D-based elements, as well as episode summaries, profiles of enemies and allies, and more.

Any fan of Dr. Who will likely be excited by the release of this app, which covers the last two Dr. Who series enacted by Matt Smith, the 11th person to play The Doctor. The app is available now for $7 from the App Store ($7, App Store Link).
