iPhone 4S Could Be in Short Supply This Holiday Season

A new report from Fortune summarizing two recent analyst reports suggests that Apple could be experiencing supply constraints on the iPhone 4S, which could affect sales of the device this holiday quarter.

Apple has been working feverishly to keep up with demand for the 4S, but unfortunately it appears that Apple may have difficulty meeting their production goals for the device.

First, Rodman and Renshaw analyst Ahok Kumar claims that shortages of a single “key component” for the iPhone 4S is what’s affecting production, and advised clients that low yield of that component will probably restrict Apple’s production and constrain iPhone 4S supplies.

The latter of the two notes, from Susquehanna Financial analyst Jeff Fidacaro also points to supply constraints as the reason behind the slowdown, noting that demand remains extremely strong for the iPhone 4S, but that Apple is having difficulties producing enough units to keep up with that demand.
