Samsung Requests To See iPhone 4S Source Code

As the legal struggle between Samsung and Apple continues, SmartOffice reports that Samsung has now asked an Australian court to grant them access to the source code for the iPhone 4S firmware, as well as detailed information on Apple’s carrier agreements in Australia.

Samsung has been fighting to ban the iPhone 4S in Australia since its debut last month, claiming that Apple has violated their 3G wireless patents, although their efforts have so far been unsuccessful.

The case is being overseen by Judge Annabel Bennet – the same judge overseeing the case that resulted in Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 being banned for sales in Australia. Apple will no doubt try to block Samsung’s move to get ahold of their source code, and judging by previous decisions in this ongoing legal struggle, will likely succeed.
