At Least 125 iPads Stolen from San Carlos Best Buy

60 seconds. That’s how long it took thieves to break into the Best Buy store in San Carlos, California, grab at least 125 iPads and get out. CBS San Francisco reports that the loss to the store is estimated to be approximately $100,000, which is a considerable amount for one store to handle.

The news report of the theft can be seen here. The alarm started sounding at 11:49 pm, after the thieves pried open the store’s front door and roll up doors, the Sheriff’s Office stated. Deputies arrived a minute later, but it was already too late.

It was clearly a planned heist, as the thieves knew where they were going and did not look at the security cameras while carrying out the crime. No suspects had yet been found as of Friday.
