Police Arrest Grinch-Like Christmas Present Thief, Thanks to ‘Find My iPad’

After a burglar nabbed all of their holiday gifts last week, a San Diego family was able to have an enjoyable holiday after all, thanks to Apple’s Find My iPad service.

Fox News reports that, according to Los Angeles County Police, Sheriff’s deputies were able to recover over 40 gifts belonging to the family after a man who had his iPad stolen by the thief in a separate robbery tracked the robber using Find My iPad and called police.

The police responded swiftly, arresting a 20-year-old man and recovering the iPad. After further searching his apartment, the deputies also recovered additional stolen gifts, including two flat screen TVs, a laptop, and the 40 or so Christmas gifts stolen from the San Diego family.

The moral of the story? Crime doesn’t pay – especially when you steal people’s Apple devices without taking careful precautions. Merry Christmas, San Diego family. Merry Christmas indeed.
