Apple to Open New Store in Basel, Switzerland

Apple is planning to open their first store in Basel, Switzerland, Swiss site MacPrime reports. This new store has been under consideration since 2010, but this is the first time that official plans have been revealed.

The store would be located in Freie Strasse, the main shopping area in Basel. It would be spread out over 900 square meters (9687 square feet) on two floors, so it would be quite a large store. The current store would have to be heavily renovated to meet Apple’s standards, and so it probably won’t open until mid-2012.
