Microsoft has finally pulled the wraps off of Windows 8, offering a consumer preview for download. The new OS features a ‘Metro’ style interface and will run on smartphones, PCs and tablets, so it could prove to be a serious competitor both to iOS and Mac OS X.

Windows’ new one OS for all strategy follows in the footsteps of Apple’s plan, who seem to be slowly bringing iOS and OS X closer together. The brand new interface makes Windows 8 look great, and I can honestly say that for the first time ever I’m very tempted to give Windows a shot.
We’ll see if it is as successful as Windows 7, but from early reviews and tests by the blogosphere, things are looking quite promising. I have never used Windows 7 nor Windows 8 (yet), but I am confident that I will much prefer the latter.
