Back to the iFuture: Steve Jobs Introduces the iPad (2010)

Steve Jobs gave new life to a dead (or at least dwindling) tablet market by releasing the original iPad. After announcing the iPad on January 27, 2010, the first iPads hit retail shelves on April 3rd. And the consumer electronics industry has been playing catchup ever since.

It’s pretty amazing to see how far the iPad has come in just two years, and in my mind, this is truly a day worth commemorating. So sit back, relax, and celebrate by using your iPad (and by watching Steve Jobs present the original iPad on stage!)

It really is amazing to see how far the iPad has come in just two years.  This was a highly anticipated product and had the potential to either be insanely great for Apple or an unmitigated disaster for them.  Personally as a very happy iPad owner, I am glad it’s turned out so well.
