Logitech’s Ultrathin Keyboard Cover is Like An iPad Smart Cover With Keys!

Logitech has just unveiled their Ultrathin Keyboard Cover – one of the more interesting iPad keyboards I’ve seen so far. What’s unique about the case is how it attaches to your iPad, essentially ending up something like a Smart Cover with a built-in keyboard.

It’s an interesting approach – rather than trying to turn the keyboard into a folio or a hard case, Logitech has instead made use of the iPad’s built-in magnets, resulting in an ultra-thin keyboard that’s far more portable than competing products – and which eliminates the need for a Smart Cover in the process.

When in use, the iPad rests in a small groove on the keyboard, holding the iPad at an ideal angle for typing. The keyboard then folds away discretely and almost invisibly when not in use – an absolutely brilliant design that I’m surprised nobody had thought of before now!

The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover is available for pre-order now directly from the manufacturer, as well as from Amazon.com for $99.99 (Amazon link), and should ship within the next few weeks. I plan on picking one of these up myself in the near future – keep your eyes out for the review!
