Despite their tendency not to feature celebrity endorsements in the ads, Apple aired two new iPhone 4S commercials last night featuring Zooey Deschanel and Samuel L. Jackson, with each celebrity making use of Siri in their own way.
The first of the two spots features Zooey Deschanel in her pajamas asking Siri about the weather, voicing a request to have tomato soup delivered, and deciding to dance the day away just because she can.
Samuel L. Jackson’s Siri ad takes a similarly casual approach, asking Siri to find organic mushrooms,and find out how many ounces are in a cup – and he’s even nice enough to give Siri the night off afterward!
As MacRumors points out, each ad does feature references to all three of the major U.S. wireless carriers, meaning that these were commissioned by Apple itself. While Apple doesn’t typically use celebrity endorsements, I’m glad they did in this case – the ads do a great job of showing how anyone – even a star – can use Siri in their everyday lives.
