Chinese Retailer Already Offering ‘Pre-Orders’ of the ‘iPhone 5’

Chinese Retailer Already Offering ‘Pre-Orders’ of the ‘iPhone 5’

Hype surrounding Apple’s upcoming iPhone causes a stir year after year, causing plenty of individuals and companies alike to engage in shady practices just to get some extra publicity. The latest of these is a Chinese retailer that is already offering pre-orders for the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 5.

The report comes from Chinese-language site Soho (via Gizmodo), and shows the retailer promoting their “pre orders” using a stock image of the iPod touch (oooh, the iPhone 5 is so thin and light!) to hype up potential customers and attract attention.

Technically, the retailer isn’t actually offering “pre-orders,” but is instead allowing their customers to “reserve” one of Apple’s next-gen iPhones, whenever Apple decides to release them. I hope they aren’t actually charging customers for these shady “reservations”…
