New iPad Finally Coming to China on July 20

Having finally come to an agreement in the Chinese iPad trademark dispute with Proview, Apple announced today that the new iPad will finally go on sale in China on July 20th. The device will be available in both WiFi and cellular versions in all current storage capacities.

While Apple still has a long way to go in fully embracing the Chinese market (which is the logical next step in fostering Apple’s growth), this is a great step forward – and now that the iPad trademark is secure, paves the way for much more rapid iPad launches in the country in the future.

Reservations for in-store pickup can be placed for the new iPad starting on July 19th, although the reservations will only be offered between 9 AM and 12 PM. Discounted iPad 2s will also be made available, as with launches in previous countries.
