Spotify Updated With iOS 6 Support, More Stations for iPad Users

Subscription streaming music service Spotify updated their iOS app this morning. The update contains minor bug fixes and improvements, adds support for Apple’s upcoming iOS 6, as well as adding the ability to show more stations for iPad users.

From the release notes:

What’s New in Version 0.5.4

A lot of folks like the iOS 6 support we’ve brought to this update. We do too. But we also like:

• New: iPad users can now show more stations.
• Fixed: Login issues for users who only ever log in with Facebook.
• Fixed: Improved stability.
• Fictitious: This version is available in chocolate, strawberry or vanilla.

It’s unusual that Apple would allow Spotify to mention iOS 6 support in an app update, especially considering that most users do not have access to iOS 6 yet. Other apps have had their updates rejected for mentioning Apple’s upcoming mobile OS.

Spotify for iOS is universal for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and is available for free [App Store link].

*Note: Use of the Spotify app required a paid monthly subscription.
