Tapbots Releases Tweetbot for Mac Beta

Tapbots Releases Tweetbot for Mac Beta

After releasing several successful and popular alpha versions of Tweetbot for Mac, Tapbots today released the first beta, bringing a number of bug fixes, new features such as multi-column swiping, and more. Unfortunately, due to Twitter’s decision to limit their API, it is only available for current users of the alpha.

A lot of our Tweetbot for Mac Alpha users have worried about what’s going to happen to them now that the Alpha has been pulled. A few folks have suggested that we release a new version but without the ability to add any new accounts, we thought it was a good idea and have done that.

You can grab the Tweetbot for Mac Beta here. It’s important to realize that with this build you can’t add or reauthorize any accounts. If you delete an account or de-authorize an existing account you will not be able to add it again until the final version comes out.

Besides being limited only to users of the alpha, the beta also removes the ability to add new accounts, or re-add one you have removed. This, as with their decision to close their public alpha program, is due to Twitter’s new user caps.

Still, for those of you that did manage to grab the alpha, head on over to Tapbots and grab the beta! A full change log can be found below:
