Western Digital’s Thunderbolt MyBook VelociRaptor Duo Is The T-Rex Of External Hard Drives

Thunderbolt drives are getting faster, meaner, and more expensive than ever before, and Western Digital’s latest beast, the MyBook VelociRaptor Duo takes things up a notch in all of those categories.

It features two 10,000 RPM drives, dual Thunderbolt ports with total capacity of 2TB, even if the drives are user serviceable, so technically you can have as much storage as you like.

This is specifically targeted at those who need loads of media moved fast like video editors and creative professionals for a reason – price. You’ll have to part ways with a huge $869.99 to get your hands on one, and I doubt that the average consumer has that kind of money to blow on external storage.

Nevertheless, if you want lightning fast, user serviceable and RAID than this is for you, as you won’t get more high end than this.
