Kindle Fire HD Vs. The Competition: How Amazon’s New Tablet Stacks Up

Amazon unveiled some impressive new devices (at extremely impressive prices) at their live event today, including the new Kindle Fire HD (priced starting at just $199) – but just how do Amazon’s impressive new toys stack up to the competition? iMore has put together a handy chart so you can see for yourself! (Click to expand).

As you can see, the new Kindle Fire lineup compares very well to the competition in terms of specs. With an asking price of just $199 for their new 7-inch Kindle Fire HD, $299 for an 8.9-inch version, and $499 for a 4G LTE version of the device, Amazon’s new toys are going to be tough to beat.

While Apple’s rumored iPad Mini has yet to make an appearance, Amazon has certainly set a high bar here in terms of both specs and pricing. Your move, Apple. Let the games begin!
