T-Mobile Launches Unlimited “4G” Data Plan – No Throttling!

T-Mobile USA, the nation’s fourth-largest wireless carrier, and the only major one without the iPhone, has announced their new unlimited “4G” data plan. The new plan will run $20 a month on the T-Mobile’s Value plan or $30 a month for the Classic voice and text plan.

The new plans do away with speed limits or bandwidth throttling, the carrier said. Though T-Mobile continues with its dubious practice of advertising its network and these new plans under the “4G” moniker, in the carrier’s terminology this really means iPhone-compatible high-speed 3G HSPA+ as T-Mobile is way overdue with 4G LTE deployment…

According to T-Mobile’s news release, a single line Value plan with unlimited talk and text combined with unlimited nationwide 4G data will cost $69.99 a month. A single line Classic plan with unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited nationwide 4G data will cost $89.99 a month.

If you’re an existing customer on a Classic or Value plan, you can easily upgrade your service by adding an Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data plan.

T-Mobile and Sprint are taking the “unlimited data plan” tact as both Verizon and AT&T are pushing their new shared data plans.

It was also reported today that since T-Mobile will apparently not be getting the iPhone any time soon, they will install unlocked iPhone displays in their stores, as part of their “Bring Your Own iPhone” campaign, to attempt to convince users with unlocked iPhones to try out T-Mobiles reframed network.

Also, it was reported yesterday the T-Mobile has begun distributing iPhone-compatible nano SIM kits to retailers in anticipation of the iPhone 5 launch later this month.
