Apple is Donating $2.5 Million to Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort

Apple will donate $2.5 million to the Red Cross relief effort to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims on the east coast of the U.S.

9to5Mac:

We just got the above email via an Apple employee from Tim Cook showing that the Cupertino company is looking after those on the other coast of the US. Apple will donate $2.5M to the Red Cross to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims. Apple previously set up a Page in iTunes for donating directly to the Red Cross and Apple says that they’ve collected millions from both Apple customers and employees.

Under Tim Cook, Apple has increased its charitable efforts, and this latest donation is just one more example of his influence.

Don’t forget, you too can donate to the relief effort, with amounts ranging from $5 to $200, and you can do it with one tap. Simply go to the featured tab of the App Store on an iOS device and you should see the Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Section.
