Apple Starts Next Day In-Store Pickup Reservations for iPad mini

Apple’s first shipment of iPad minis has sold out both online and at the physical Apple stores. Now the company has begun offering online reservations for the new tablet. Customers looking to purchase an iPad mini can purchase a unit online for next-day in-store pickup.

AppleInsider:

Instead of having to wait the two-week delivery time Apple is currently quoting, those interested in buying the 7.9-inch tablet now have the chance to reserve one through the Online Apple Store each night starting at 10 p.m. The reservation system, aimed at customers looking to be one of the first iPad mini owners, has been used before with other major Apple launches.

The service is an excellent way for prospective buyers to guarantee receiving a unit as Apple Stores take delivery of only a limited number of units each day as the supply continues to trickle in from overseas.

It is not known exactly how many units are allotted each evening for online reservations, you can however, visit the Online Apple Store to check availability starting at 10 p.m. local time.

When placing an order, the customer simply chooses the “Pick up” option at checkout. Inventory is updated nightly.
