iPad mini Comes Off Better Than Nexus 7, 3rd Gen iPad In Drop Tests

The first drop and dunk tests have been performed on the iPad mini and the results are in! MacRumors reports it comes out much better than the Nexus 7, and while the screen did crack, it still worked perfectly, unlike the Nexus 7 where the screen also stopped responding.

Interestingly, the mini also emerged in better shape the the iPad 3rd gen, however one might attribute that more to the smaller form factor than anything else.

Android Authority  performed a simple drop test, which you can see below.

Meanwhile, tech warranty company Squaretrade performed the drops using a neat bit of equipment to fairly compare them. In addition, it also dunked the devices in water for several seconds.
