New HTC One Smartphone Released Ahead Of MWC

HTC released another iPhone competitor in the HTC One at its press event today, ahead of Mobile World Congress next week in Barcelona, the BBC reports. Made entirely out of aluminium (I wonder where they got that idea…), it packs a 1080p 4.7 inch screen and an ‘ultrapixel’ camera. Of course, it runs Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android.

Other features include HTC Zoe, which allows you to capture 20 different photos and one  three second video with one tap ‘so your entire photo album becomes a living, breathing gallery’ and Blinkfeed, HTC’s take on Flipboard.

HTC chairman Peter Chou:

We’ve created the best smartphone on the market; we just need to let the world know about it.

I’m not sure I’d go that far until it’s been tested, but it definitely looks like a decent phone. I look forward to checking it out up close for myself at MWC, which I’ll be attending.
