Apple Seeds iOS 7 Beta 5 to Developers

Apple seeded the fifth beta of iOS 7 to developers this morning, breaking from their typical 2-week release cycle by launching it just over a week following iOS 7 Beta 4. The updated is available now via OTA update on devices running the first beta (through Settings, General, Software Update), as well as through Apple’s Developer Center.

The beta bears a build number of  11A4449a, and comes alongside a new developer preview of Xcode 5, complete with an updated SDK for the new beta, and a new Apple TV beta (Apple TV Software beta 4). The previous Apple TV beta introduced an intriguing new feature that allows you to set up your Apple TV with a single tap from an iOS 7-powered device.

It’s unclear exactly what’s new in the new beta at this point – but we’ll let you know if we hear anything especially interesting! Considering that Beta 4 was fairly stable, and the decrease in wait times between releases, it appears that Apple is nearing the final Golden Master version of the software, which will be released this fall.
