Goophone Says It’s Ready to Launch an iPhone 5C Clone

You might remember the fine folks at Goophone, the Chinese Phone manufacturer who seems to live for copying Apple’s devices, at least the outer facing parts, and slamming some Android innards in them. They’ve made copies of the iPad mini, the iPhone 5, and now, (of course), they’ve announced their clone of the iPhone 5C.

Engadget:

Despite popular belief that the 5C will be more affordable than the typical iPhone, the KIRFer has confirmed to us that it’s making a copy known as the i5C.

Goophone has yet to release the specs for their upcoming “i5C,” however leaked specs obtained by Engadget suggest it will sport a 4-inch 960 x 540 screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core MTK6572 processor and an 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It will allegedly support quad-band GSM, with 3G connectivity and will run Android 4.2.

The price should come in around $100, but you’ll have to wait awhile to get you hands on this little Xeroxed masterpiece, Goophone tells Engadget that it’s waiting for the REAL iPhone 5C to hit the streets before releasing its “tribute.”
