BlackBerry Messenger for iOS Was Submitted to the App Store Two Weeks Ago

We’ve all been wondering when BlackBerry Messenger for iOS would finally be released, but apparently it was submitted to the App Store two weeks ago!

9to5Mac:

BlackBerry’s Messenger (BBM) app for the iPhone and iPod touch was submitted to the App Store two weeks ago, according to a Tweet from a BlackBerry Senior Manager who is working on the software.

BlackBerry announced earlier this year that they would be porting the popular messaging platform to both iOS and Android. The company announced a beta testing program for the app back in early August.

Sources report that the app is nearly identical to the version on the Blackberry Z10, only lacking a few unspecified features.

BlackBerry Messenger for the iOS and Android platforms could be a very important piece of BlackBerry’s efforts to stay relevant in the smartphone industry.
