Bricking and Networking Issues Cause Apple to Pull Apple TV 6.0 Update

Apple released the Apple TV 6.0 update on Friday, however many reports have hit the net about update issues that required the user to restore their Apple TV, causing Apple to pull the update.

9to5Mac:

In some particular instances, Apple TVs have also been permanently bricked or they lost the content on the device during the update. Other devices could not download any internet content even when an internet connection was connected.

Apple took down the OTA update Saturday night, and now devices running Apple TV 5.3 are seeing no available update. The 6.0 firmware update is still available as a download on Apple’s website.

We’ll keep you posted when we hear of a corrected update being available.
