iBooks Textbooks Category Appears in the iOS 7 App Store

It had been speculated lately that iBooks Textbooks might finally gain compatibility with the iPhone, and now today a new iBooks Textbook category has appeared on the iOS 7 App Store on the iPhone.

9to5Mac:

The featured category is currently accessible via the Education category of the store.

As the screenshots above show, the category isn’t populated with any actual textbooks, and isn’t completely functional. Imagery is supplied for several categories, including Life Sciences, Humanities, and a High School Core Curriculum.

So, is Apple getting ready to allow textbooks on the iPhone as of the public release of iOS 7? We should find out very soon…
