Apple to Open Retail Stores at 8AM on Nov. 1st – iPad Air Launch Day

Apple will be opening the doors of their retail stores a bit earlier than usual on Friday, November 1st, which is the first day customers will have the opportunity to get their hands on a new iPad Air.

The company has announced on its website that its retail locations will be opening an hour earlier than normal. This is standard practice for the Cupertino firm on product launch days, having opened early for previous iPhone and iPad debuts.

If the launch of the iPhone 5s is any indication, we can expect that orders for the new, lighter, full-sized device will begin in Apple’s online store at 12:01AM Pacific time on November 1st.

Also, in a move reflecting the iPhone 5s launch, Apple is not taking preorders for the iPad Air prior to launch day.

The iPad mini with Retina Display will go on sale “later in November,” and is expected to be in short supply during the holiday shopping season.
