The Grassy Knoll Report: A 50th Anniversary Examination of the Kennedy Assassination

The assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, TX on November 22, 1963 rocked the United States and its citizens to the very core. I have always had a special interest in the assassination, even though when it occurred, I was just a small child of four. President Kennedy’s death affected the entire decade of the 1960s.

While many accept the verdict of the Warren Commission that President Kennedy was killed by a lone gunman acting of his own accord with no outside help, others believe President Kennedy was killed as a part of a large, and far-reaching conspiracy. No matter your beliefs, you will want to take a look at “The Grassy Knoll Report,” available now for the iPhone.

Now, on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, The Grassy Knoll Report combines detailed historical research, and deep analysis in an interactive tool, that with the addition of Contemporary photography and GPS-enabled maps, give interested parties a tool to explore the event that forever changed a nation.

This app, based on the same information as found in the book of the same name by author Joe Williams, crams every possible tidbit about the events of that November day into a compact, and easy to navigate iPhone app. (I have been assured an iPad version will be available later this year.) While most of the information in the app has been covered in previous reports and books, this app is a solid tool for use by those interested in the assassination of President Kennedy, and those possibly behind one of the darkest days in the history of the U.S.

The information in the app is laid out in a any easy to follow, if cramped, format that aids in the user’s exploration of the evidence and surrounding events of that day.

The app includes feature length articles on the assassination, and the alleged conspiracy, timeline coverage, in depth looks at crime scenes and locations, and photos of the scenes as they appear today in addition to archival photos.

The app features text-to-speech support for iOS 7 devices, an iTunes playlist featuring tracks from 1963, map locations and GPS discovery, and even HD photos that can be downloaded via in-app purchase.

No matter what your thoughts and beliefs on the assassination of President Kennedy, The Grassy Knoll Report is a valuable, if what some might consider biased, tool for examining the events that took place 50 years ago this month in Dallas.

The Grassy Knoll Report is available for the iPhone in the App Store for $0.99. [DIRECT LINK]
