Logitech has announced the PowerShell game controller for the iPhone 5/5s and the fifth-generation iPod Touch. The controller plugs into the Lightning port on the devices, and supplies console-style controls, with a directional pad, and shoulder and face buttons.
The controller also allows for headphones to be connected through an included adapter, and also leaves the volume up/down buttons, ring/silent switch, and power/sleep button of an iOS device fully accessible.
As seen in the MOGA Ace Power, also released this week, the Logitech controller also includes a battery that charges your device while you’re playing a game. The 1500 mAh battery will certainly come in handy during marathon gaming sessions. The PowerShell can be charged via its micro-USB port, and can be charged simultaneously with the iOS device.
Current games that support the controller include Dead Trigger 2, Bastion, and Asphalt 8: Airborne, Fast & Furious 6: The Game, MetalStorm Aces, Galaxy On Fire 2 HD and Nitro, among others. Additional developers should soon be building controller support into their games now that the controllers are making the scene.
