Apple Gives Justin Timberlake Songs as First of Its ’12 Days of Gifts’

Apple has kicked off their “12 Days of Gifts” promotion with a free download of four songs Justin Timberlake performed at the 2013 iTune Festival. This is the first year the promotion has been available in the United States.

AppleInsider:

The “12 Days” digital content giveaway has become somewhat of a tradition for many iTunes users, though the app was previously limited to Canada and a few major European countries. For 2013, Apple has extended the promo to U.S. customers for the first time, granting them access to freebies that in the past have included movies, music, e-books, apps and more.

Earlier in December, Apple gave a small “preview” of what the 12 Days of Gifts app would be offering, by giving away Lorde’s latest single “No Better.”

The “12 Days of Gifts” promotion runs through January 6th, and requires users to download the free 12 Days of Gifts app in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]

(UPDATE – 12/27/13) – Apple has released the Day 2 free gift in its “12 Days of Gifts” promotion. U.S. users will find the pilot episode of the popular ABC fantasy series with a twist – “Once Upon a Time.”

The “gift” can be accessed via Apple’s “12 Days of Gifts” app, available at the link above.

(UPDATE – 2/27/13) – Apple has apparently decided to go in a different direction for todays free gift, as it is now showing “Tiny Thief,” a game from Angry Birds creator Rovio as the freebie for today. No explanation has been given for the switch.
