Apple Announces First U.S. iTunes Festival at SXSW 2014

Apple announced today that it will be holding the first iTunes Festival to be held in the United States at SXSW, running from March 11-15. The festival will take place at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, home of Austin City Limits.

Acts appearing at the festival include Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Pitbull, Keith Urban, ZEDD with more acts to be named later.

All five nights of the iTunes Festival will be available to viewers for free as a live and on-demand stream via the iTunes Store on iOS devices, and Macs or PCs. Performances can also be seen in the iTunes Festival app on an iOS device or via Apple TV.

“The iTunes Festival in London has become an incredible way for Apple to share its love of music with our customers,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “We’re excited about the incredible lineup of artists performing and SXSW is the perfect place to debut the first iTunes Festival in the US.”

The iTunes Festival in London has seen more than 400 artists perform in front of more than 430,000 fans live, and millions more online.
