Keep That Expensive Mac Pro Safe With This $49 Lock Adapter From Apple

So yeah, you paid over $9K for that new Mac Pro, and people keep throwing their trash into the top of it, and you have nightmares that someone is going to slip into your office and steal the damn thing. Well, we can’t help you with the first problem, (Hire Dikembe Mutombo? – Ed.), but we can help you in the theft worries department…

Oh! So THAT'S what that hole is for!

Apple has just released a $49 new lock accessory for the computer that will keep people from unplugging everything, picking it up, and walking out the door with it.

The adapter is Kensington lock compatible, and “attaches to Mac Pro without tools or enclosure modification.” When you attach a lock, (sold separately of course), it also prevents the case of the Mac Pro from being opened, so no one can cob anything from the inside of your little powerhouse either.

The Mac Pro Security Lock Adapter is compatible with most third-party Kensington or similar locks including the following products available on the Apple Online Store:

  • Kensington MicroSaver Lock
  • Kensington MicroSaver DS Keyed Lock
  • Kensington Combination Laptop Lock (2011)
  • Kensington Portable Combination Laptop Lock
  • Kensington WordLock Portable Combination Laptop Lock

The Mac Pro Security Lock Adapter is available at the Apple Store online. [DIRECT LINK]
