Apple Store Apple TV Stock Wiped Out By $25 iTunes Card/iTunes Festival Promotion

It seems Apple’s move to offer a free $25 iTunes Gift Card with the purchase of an Apple TV from Apple stores could be considered a success, as multiple Apple stores report their stock is exhausted by demand caused by the promotion.

9to5Mac:

The Apple TV is showing up as ‘Unavailable for pickup’ at Apple Stores across the U.S., with multiple NY Apple Stores we called saying that in-store stocks had been exhausted by demand created by the promotion offering $25 iTunes credit with every purchase, along with that generated by the upcoming London iTunes festival as well as the recent Lollapalooza livestream. Apple has been promoting the music festival as a good reason to buy the box now …

MacTrast checked all Apple stores in our local area, and all show “Unavailable for Pickup”. If you’d like to purchase one online, the Apple Store is showing shipping within 24 hours, and the device is still available at Best Buy ($92.99), and Amazon ($92.95), although sans the $25 iTunes Gift Card.
