Apple Retail to Make In-Store Changes for Holiday Shopping Season

Apple is planning to make some holiday related changes in its retail stores, says a report today from MacRumors. The site says their sources tell them Apple will be changing the colors of their store gift cards, and will rollout red holiday t-shirts for the employees.

No word yet on whether we’ll see a repeat of the 2013 windows decorations…

Apple will reportedly change the color of their store gift cards to solid silver, space grey, and gold in order to match the colors of the current iPad and iPhone models. The cards will be available with a value of up to $2,000 and will debut today, November 17.

Apple retail head Angela Ahrendts reportedly introduced the changes to employees via an internal company video.

Changes in employee attire will include red holiday t-shirts in place of the traditional blue shirts, and employees will no longer wear the traditional lanyard with name badge around their neck. Sans the lanyard, employees will put more emphasis on introducing themselves to the customer.

Apple retail stores will also begin servicing Beats Electronics products starting on Tuesday. Issues with minor items such as cables, chargers, and such will be handled in-store, while bigger issues will be handled via mail-in service depot channels.
