Ticketmaster Adds Apple Pay Support to Its iOS App

Now iOS users will be able to pay for their Ticketmaster event tickets via Apple Pay, as the ticketing monolith has announced support for Apple’s mobile payments service in the latest version of their iOS app.

MacRumors:

Available now, version 1.7.1 of the Ticketmaster app allows customers to purchase tickets for music, sporting events, and more with a single touch.

“We work hard to deliver simple and secure ways for fans to purchase tickets to the events they love, and offering Apple Pay makes our industry-leading app the most convenient, flexible and secure way to buy,” said Jared Smith, president of Ticketmaster North America.

This marks the second Apple Pay related announcement for Monday, as Walt Disney World has also announced today that the Florida entertainment resort will begin accepting Apple Pay starting Wednesday, December 24.

Walt Disney World and Ticketmaster were both listed as Apple’s original partners in the Apple Pay initiative. Other retail partners include Subway, Whole Foods, McDonald’s and Walgreens. Launched in October, Apple Pay made up 1% of all digital payment dollars in November.

The Ticketmaster app is available FREE for iPhone and iPad devices in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
