Interactive Apple Watch Demo Allows Test Drive of Device’s Interface

If you’d like to get a feel for the user interface of the upcoming Apple Watch, the developers of iOS news app Pipes have good news for you. They’ve created an online “test drive” that allows you to get a good idea of how the new wearable will operate when it’s released.

The demo features a replica of the device’s home screen as well as the ability to launch any app you see listed. Many of the apps provide only a static image, but a few have more interactive bits, such as the Instagram mockup that allows you to swipe through a few photos, or the Music app that enables playback of Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars.”

The demo also includes an interactive demo of the Pipes app itself. The Pipes app in the demo is reportedly just like the app that will ship when iOS 8.2 becomes available.

When you use the “watch,” just click the Digital Crown to return to the home screen. You can even upload an app icon if you want to see what your icon will look like on the new device.
