Apple Releases New Version of ‘The Song’ TV Ad for the Chinese Market

Apple has released a new version of its holiday iPad ad, “The Song” just in time for the Chinese New Year. The new version uses Asian actresses to tell the story of a young girl who finds a vintage record her grandmother recorded, and uses it to create a duet to give to her.

Just as in the original version, the ad shows the girl finding the recording, made years ago by her grandmother, and then shows her secretly learning the song in order to lay her own vocal track down next to her Grandmother’s in order to create a duet.

The ad features a number of Apple products, and ends with the duo listening to the song on an iPad while sitting side-by-side.

The ad is currently on Apple’s Chinese website.
