Apple seeded the fifth beta of iOS 8.2 to developers on Monday, as well as a new beta of Xcode 6.2 with WatchKit.The WatchKit tools will allow developers to create apps for the Apple Watch, due to be released in April.
iOS 8.2 beta 5 (build 12D5480a) is available as an over the air download for developers running iOS 8.2 beta 4 on their devices, and is also available via download from Apple’s iOS Developer Center website. Xcode 6.2 beta 5 (build 6C121) is also available for download via the iOS Developer Center website.
The build release comes just a few weeks after iOS 8.2 beta 4 was provided to developers. The first iOS 8.2 beta debuted with WatchKit support in mid-November, allowing developers their first shot at learning how to create applications for the upcoming Apple Watch.
iOS 8.2 will be required to allow the iPhone to work with the Apple Watch wearable device. The new iOS release should be made available to the public sometime before the device’s scheduled April debut.
