Starbucks App Users Can Now Reload Their Card Using Apple Pay

If you’re a Starbucks customer who uses the chain’s iOS app to pay for your daily dose of caffeine, you’ll be glad to know you can now reload your Starbucks card using Apple Pay.

Starbucks was listed as a “Coming Soon” Apple Pay app partner at the payments service’s launch in October, and it took until now to include integrate the service into the chain’s iOS app.

For now you can only use Apple Pay to reload your Starbucks card, as the coffee chain is not an Apple Pay retail partner. The caffeine pusher uses its own barcode system for in-store purchases via its app, and currently Starbucks locations do not have NFC point-of-sale terminals to allow paying with Apple Pay.

Today’s app update also includes an enhanced menu with calorie information, and an enhanced experience for Mobile Order & Pay in Portland. (So… I guess that’s a “YAY!” for you Portland! – Ed.)

The Starbucks iOS app can be downloaded from the App Store for free. [DIRECT LINK]
