‘Try the Watch’ App Lets You Virtually Try on an Apple Watch

If you’re wondering what an Apple Watch would look like on your wrist and don’t want to wait, or you just don’t want to deal with the crowds when they’re available, (or you’re just looking for something fun to do during lunch hour today), check out this new augmented reality app from Belgian IT firm Underside.

'Try the Watch' App Lets You Virtually Try on an Apple Watch
Yeah, my arm is blurry – You try keeping the target on your wrist while holding your iPhone in your other hand while trying to press the Home and Power buttons at the same time – SHEESH!

AppleInsider:

Attaching a small, printable target to the wrist and then loading up the app will allow users to visualize different Apple Watch models. Tapping on the screen will cycle through different watch case and band color combinations.

It just takes a pair of scissors, a printer, and your iPhone, and you’re ready to virtually style an Apple Watch.

We tried it, and as you can see in the screenshot above, the render of the Watch does tend to hover a bit, but it’s still a fun way to get an idea of how Apple’s new wearable will look on your wrist. Besides, what else do you have to do during lunch? Eat?

AppleInsider’s video below may give you a better idea of how everything looks:

The app isn’t available in the App Store, so you’ll have to visit Underside’s website and download it directly from there. (You’ll need to authorize the app to run on your iPhone.)

Visit the Underside website on your iPhone to grab the app, and download the VR template.
