iFixit Does a Teardown on the Apple Watch – No, Not That One…

iFixit, they of the magical tools that can disassemble any electronic device, got their hands on an Apple Watch. No, not that one…

iFixit:

When our engineers got their hands on the Apple Watch, they were mesmerized. Transfixed, even. Truly swept away by its beauty, grace, and elegance. We’re sure you’ll have a similar reaction.

You have to hand it to iFixit, they went through the entire teardown just as meticulously as any of their other teardowns…

“While the fancier stainless steel and gold variants of Apple Watch come with sapphire crystal, we personally favor this high-tech aluminosilicate Ion-X glass.

“Compared with sapphire, it’s both lighter and more resistant to impact. Throw your hands in the air, Apple Watch don’t care!”

iFixit gave this Apple Watch a 9 out of 10 on their repairability scoresheet. That may be the best repairability rating they’ve ever given an Apple product.

iFixit also announced a new service on Wednesday, their fast and convenient iFaxit service – the world’s first on-demand delivery service for repair information.
