watchOS 2 Beta 2 -Build 13S5293f – can be installed via the Apple Watch companion app in the iOS 9 beta. Developers will need to install the iOS 9 beta on their iPhone before installing the watch OS 2 beta. To install, enter the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, and go to: “General” -> “Software Update.”

WatchOS 2 brings a number of new features to the table for Apple Watch developers to take advantage of. The new OS allows developers to create native apps that run on the Watch itself, instead of the iPhone. Developers also gain access to the Taptic Engine and a number of other sensors in the device.

The update also offers the end use the opportunity to access new watch faces, third-party Complications, Time Travel to view upcoming events, and a Nightstand mode for use while the Watch is charging, and displays the time.

The watchOS 2 beta is currently available only to registered developers who have iOS 9 installed on their development iPhones. The new Apple Watch operating system will be released to the public in the fall.
